Advisory related to COVID-19, for Indian Nationals in Czech Republic


  • The Government of Czech Republic has declared the state of emergency in its entire territory for 30 days with effect from 12 March 2020.


  • Indian Nationals, who are in Czech Republic with valid visa/residence permit are allowed to stay in Czech territory for the duration of the state of emergency.


  • Since the Czech Government has restricted cross-border traffic, Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to neighbouring countries. Those Indian nationals, who intend to travel to India, should keep in mind that as per instructions of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, they may be quarantined for a minimum period of 14 days on their arrival in India. Mandatory quarantine would normally apply to those who have visited China, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany on or after February 15, 2020. Those who have transited through airports of these countries (having no immigration stamp of the concerned transit countries) will not be subjected to mandatory quarantine.


  • Indian nationals holding Czech permanent or temporary residence permit who expresses interest to travel out of the country will not be authorized to re-enter Czech territory during the state of emergency.
