7th Round of India-Czech Republic Foreign Office Consultations


The 7th round of Foreign Office Consultations between India and Czech Republic was held on 22 January 2021 at Prague. The Indian side was led by Shri Vikas Swarup, Secretary (West) and the Czech side was led by Mr Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister for Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Czech Republic.

2. During the consultations, both sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation to include political, defence and security, economic & commerce, science & technology, consular matters, culture and education. They shared views and experiences on combating COVID-19 pandemic amplifying the vaccination programme.

3. The two sides also had an in-depth exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and agreed to enhance cooperation in the UN and multilateral arena including the current stint of India as UN Security Council member for the period 2021-22.

4. The sides looked forward to the forthcoming conduct of the inaugural India-CE Forum at Prague in 2021. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue the upward momentum in the relationship through exchange of regular visits and consultations and agreed to hold the next round of Foreign Office Consultations at a mutually convenient date.
