Strengthening bilateral ties through Mobility & People-to-People connect The 3rd interactive session of the India Professionals and Entrepreneurs Forum (IPEF) was hosted by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of the Czech Republic Vít Rakušan.
In his welcome remarks, Minister Rakušan emphasized the deepening India–Czechia relationship, underscored by the Strategic Innovation Partnership launched in January 2024 by Prime Ministers of both countries. In pursuant to the document, both countries are actively working towards creating a conducive environment to ease the mobility of skilled personnel between both countries.
Ambassador Raveesh Kumar highlighted the importance of creating a framework agreement to facilitate smoother mobility between the two countries—an enabler for deeper collaboration in areas like trade, innovation, research, defense and people-to-people connect.
The dialogue brought forward practical concerns and ideas around:
Simplifying residence permit and Schengen visa processes Easing family reunification procedures
Launching dedicated channels for startups and investors
As the first discussion of its kind, the session provided a platform for meaningful exchange, reflecting the shared commitment to nurturing a more dynamic and inclusive India–Czechia corridor. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Lukas Hendrych, Director International Cooperation Katerina Flaigova, Director Migration Policy Pavla Novotna and other senior officials from Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Industry and Trade.
IPEF was launched as a networking platform for Indian and Indian-origin professionals and entrepreneurs in Czechia. The objectives, among others, is to strengthen the economic engagement between India and Czechia, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, innovation and research and mobility.
